XAT 2027 Adds New Associate Institutes: What Applicants Should Verify

What has changed on the XAT 2027 website?

The official XAT homepage now names four institutions under New XAT Associate Institutes and one institution under New XAMI Member Institute. XAT also states that the test is accepted by more than 250 B-schools and is conducted across more than 100 test cities.

The labels matter. An XAT Associate Institute uses XAT scores within its own admission process. A XAMI member belongs to the Xavier Association of Management Institutes, the association on whose behalf XLRI conducts XAT. Neither label removes the need to complete the institute's own application where required.

XAT Associate Institute vs XAMI member: the difference

Students often read a college name on the XAT website and assume it has the same relationship with the exam as XLRI. That is not the case. XAT Associate Institutes are independent institutions that accept XAT scores according to their own selection policies. XAMI members form part of the association connected with the examination, but they also retain institute-specific admission rules.

In both cases, XAT registration is only the entrance-test step. Applicants should look for a separate college form, programme choice, application fee, eligibility rule, interview process and closing date. A valid XAT score does not guarantee a shortlist or admission.

What the institutes' official pages currently show

Narayana Business School's current admissions page presents MBA and PGDM options for the 2027-29 cycle and includes XAT among the listed routes. Students should choose the exact programme before comparing curriculum, fees or outcomes because MBA and PGDM labels can represent different academic structures.

Mahindra University's official MBA page describes a two-year full-time programme and lists XAT alongside CAT, GMAT, GRE, NMAT and the university's own entrance test. Its process includes an online application and further evaluation, so sending or entering an XAT score is one component rather than the complete application.

Dayananda Sagar Business School's official site describes a two-year full-time PGDM. The XAT website now identifies it as a new associate institute, but candidates should confirm which intake and programme will use XAT 2027 before paying an application fee.

Sparsh Global Business School's official admissions material says its PGDM process accepts national-level tests including XAT. The XAT page currently labels the institute as Gurgaon, while the institute's admissions page displays a Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR address. Applicants should verify the teaching campus and current contact details directly with the institute.

Xavier Institute of Management and Informatics, Jaipur, states that its MBA is AICTE approved and affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University. Its website currently says the 2026-27 admissions session is closed. The new XAMI listing should therefore not be read as proof that a fresh application window is already open; wait for the institute's 2027-cycle instructions.

XAT 2027 dates applicants should track

The wider college list is useful only if the examination form is completed on time. The official XAT schedule currently shows registration closing on December 6, 2026. The admit card is tentatively scheduled for December 20, and the exam is set for January 3, 2027, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Institute application dates can close before or after the XAT registration deadline. Do not use the exam deadline as a substitute for checking each college's own calendar.

Application checklist for these five institutes

Start with programme fit, not the appearance of a new name on an exam website. Read the curriculum, admission policy, fee schedule, placement report and campus information for the exact programme and batch. Then confirm whether the institute needs a separate form and how the XAT score must be submitted.

Applicants comparing newer or less familiar options should also check approvals and affiliations on the institute's website and, where appropriate, the relevant regulator or university. Placement figures should be read from a dated report for the correct graduating cohort rather than from an undated promotional summary.

• Open the institute's own admissions page and identify the exact MBA or PGDM programme.
• Check whether a separate application and fee are required.
• Confirm accepted XAT year, eligibility, shortlist method and interview stages.

What this means for an MBA aspirant's shortlist

The update gives XAT applicants more visible options across Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Jaipur. That can be valuable for students who want to diversify beyond a small set of highly competitive colleges.

It does not make every newly listed institute an automatic choice. Compare the programme with your target role, budget, preferred location and other admits. XAT acceptance is an entry route; the quality and suitability of the programme remain separate decisions.
