Best CAT Coaching in Chennai: Five Institutes Compared
Shortlist 2IIM, Career Launcher, GradSquare, IMS and T.I.M.E. by your commute, actual teachers and remaining study needs. The evidence supports a comparison, not a universal winner; Career Launcher’s current local CAT intake remains unresolved.
Official web sources reviewed on 14 October 2026. Provider disclosures establish advertised locations and products; current seats, allocated teachers and student outcomes have not been independently verified.
How this shortlist was selected
These five distinct brands have official Chennai location or city-network evidence and CAT-related information. They appear alphabetically, without numerical rankings. We assessed local presence, delivery, price disclosure and unresolved enrolment details; we did not independently test teaching or audit results.
This updates the existing Chennai guide with current source checks, two new detailed profiles, a revised GradSquare price and clearer batch limitations. A source review date does not guarantee seat availability.
Compare the five providers
| Institute | Local evidence | Price evidence reviewed | Most useful next check |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2IIM | Adyar contact; current Anna Nagar programme | ₹60,000 displayed for CAT 2027; tax needs confirmation | Do not confuse 2027 intake with CAT 2026 revision |
| Career Launcher | Alwarpet CAT finder entry; local page focuses on other exams | Current CAT classroom fee not established | Confirm that a CAT batch actually runs here |
| GradSquare | Nungambakkam and Tambaram contacts | CAT 2026 ₹40,000 +18% GST; calculated ₹47,200 | Confirm offer and remaining live hours |
| IMS | Adyar, Anna Nagar and T Nagar CAT listings | Current local classroom fee not established | Check CAT-only mocks and assigned teachers |
| T.I.M.E. | Official Chennai city-network page | Current branch package not established | Obtain precise venue, timetable and fee |
2IIM: separate current intake from historical pricing
The current Chennai page advertises Anna Nagar CAT 2027 batches beginning 18 October 2026 (weekend, 9:30 AM–1:30 PM) and 20 October (weekday, 6:30–8:30 PM), displaying ₹60,000. Tax treatment and seats need confirmation. It describes classroom/online resources, books, mocks and interview support.
The Adyar contact page remains available at 9962648484, but the dated new intake is Anna Nagar. Our assessment: useful to enquire if you want an integrated classroom course; confirm the venue and exam year. Older pricing pages still mention CAT 2024 and should not be used as current quotes.
Career Launcher: resolve the local CAT availability mismatch
The CAT finder identifies Alwarpet, while its linked local page emphasises CLAT and IPM/BBA and displays no available batch product. Our assessment: an enquiry option with current CAT delivery unresolved, rather than a confirmed open intake.
Ask whether teaching is local, remote or at another venue, then obtain a dated schedule and itemised quote.
GradSquare: compare the quoted course with the timetable
The displayed CAT 2026 price is ₹40,000 before 18% GST. Our assessment: enquire if Nungambakkam or Tambaram suits your routine, then test the mock-feedback process. Conflicting 200+/300+ hour descriptions mean the exact remaining teaching plan needs confirmation.
IMS: compare branch and mock scope
IMS lists CAT locations in Adyar, Anna Nagar and T Nagar. Our assessment: trial the actual branch teacher and commute. Its campaign combines SimCATs with other-exam mocks; ask for the CAT-only inventory and feedback schedule. Current local fees and a dated new intake were not established.
T.I.M.E.: city presence is a starting point
The official Chennai page describes a network serving Anna Nagar, Nungambakkam, Tambaram and Velachery, with classroom/online teaching, mocks and doubts. A current branch-specific fee, teacher list and dated intake were not established from the accessible page.
Our assessment: request the precise teaching venue and a written current package before arranging a demo. Do not substitute a national test-series price for a local classroom quote.
Choose for your current preparation stage
For CAT 2026 revision, ask what feedback and live work remain after you join. For a longer CAT 2027 course, examine the weekly calendar and planned syllabus coverage. These purchases should not be compared solely by their headline prices.
At each demo, try an unseen question after the explanation. Ask how doubts are resolved between classes and who reviews a weak mock. Trial the outward and return journey at class time; include extra visits for doubts when calculating your weekly commitment.
Request the same written fields from each shortlist: exam year, delivery mode, teachers, remaining live sessions, recordings, books, full CAT tests, other-exam tests, mentoring, interview support, expiry, tax and cancellation terms.
